The First Private Dialysis center In Nigeria
Life Support Medical Centre is the first private dialysis centre to open its doors to treatment of kidney failure in the nation of Nigeria. It was officially commisioned by the Federal Minister of Health, the late Professor Olikoye Ransome-Kuti in October 1986. It was pioneered by Dr. Okechukwu Onuzo a Consultant Nephrologist and his wife, Mariam Onuzo a General practitioner. Life Support Medical Centre is also a hospital that carters for patients with general Medical conditions and is a centre for both primary and secondary care in the National Health Insurance program.

Dr. Onuzo was trained in three universities: University of Ibadan teaching Hospital, Lagos university teaching Hospital both in Nigeria, and Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester New York, USA.
